Forrest Gump(1)
Doctor:Alrigh. Forrest. Open your eyes now .
Let’s take a little walk around. How do those feel? His legs are strong, Mrs. Gump, as strong as I’ve ever seen. But his back is as crooked as a politician. But we’re going to straighten him right up now, aren’t we, Forrest?
Forrest: Now when I was a baby, Mama named me after the great Civil War hero, General Nathan (以什么人的方式或者以什么东西来给我命名)Bedford Forrest. She said we was related to him in some way and what he did was, he started up this club called the Ku Klux Klan.(三K党,美国农村的一个秘密组织残害黑人)They’d all dress up in their robes and their bed sheets and act like a bunch of ghosts or spooks or something.
They’d even put bed sheets on their horses and ride around. Anyway, that’s how I got my name, Forrest Gump. Mama said the Forrest part was to remind me that sometimes we all do things that, well, just don’t make no sense.(一个双重否定的句子,在美国的口语中大部分只是对否定的强调,而不是肯定。根本不构成意义。阿甘妈妈以历史上一个毫无意义的任务来提醒阿甘你这一辈子会经历很多事情,但是都是毫无意义的。)Mrs. Gump: What are y’all starin’ at?(你们到处盯者看什么?) ( Stare:盯着,直勾勾的看,非常不礼貌) ( y’all=you all 这是美国南方的一个特殊表达方式相当于“你自己”的意思。All of y’all:你们大家) Haven’t you ever seen a little boy with braces on his legs before? Don’t ever let anybody tell you that they’re better than you, Forrest. If God intended everybody to be the same, he’d have given us all braces on our legs.(很精彩的一句话。)Forrest: Mama always had a way of explaining things so I could understand them. We lived about a quarter mile off Route 17, about a half mile from the town of Greenbow, Alabama. That’s in the country of Greenbow.(美国人说地址习惯告诉你开车如何找到他们的目的地。) Our house had been in mama’s family since her grandpa’s grandpa’s grandapa(祖祖辈辈) had come across the ocean about a thousand years ago, something like that. Since it was just me and mama and we had all these empty rooms, mama decided to let those rooms out (房间出租), mostly to people passin’ through like, oh, from Mobile, Montgomery, places like that. That’s how me and mama (这个在书面语中应该是Mom and I.X学电影过程中应该注意口语的表达方式。) got money. Mama was a real smart lady. (smart:一个人有大智慧,clever: 一点小聪明常用来形容小孩子)
